O's hammer Twins
July 6, 1994

The Oconomowoc Five O's continued their scintillating play of recent weeks, taking no prisoners in a slash-and-burn 17-2 thrashing of the Monches Twins Sunday.
The victory was the sixth in a row for Oconomowoc, which improved its record to 10-3 overall, 2-0 in the Land O'Lakes league's second half.
The O's put four runs on the board in the first inning as Steve Rhoads drove in three runs with a bases-loaded single, and a subsequent throwing error.
Steve Smith then delivered a two-out single to right that drove in another run.
The lead was stretched to 10-0 through six innings.
Ron Meunier hit his sixth home run of the season, while Mike Michalsky led the troops with four hits. Meunier, Rhoads, and Jeff Ranta each had three hits.
Ranta drew three walks, reaching base all six of his plate appearances.
The offense was more than enough for starting pitcher Kevin Karenz, who won his third straight game in two weeks. Karenz scattered 10 hits and carried a shut-out into the ninth inning.
In the unlikely event that the O's hurler would have needed any help, the offense had one final outburst left. Oconomowoc put a touchdown on the board in the seventh inning, when they unleashed seven runs to take a 17-0 lead.
The O's scheduled contest for the 4th of July at home against Merton was rained out, and no make-up date has yet been set. The team will host a softball tournament at Champion Field Saturday for fund raising.
The next scheduled game will be at Genesee Sunday. Starting time is 1:30 p.m.
