The Five O's took a beating from the Watertown Cardinals on Thursday night in Tri County action. Starter Jeremy Deuchars did not have his best stuff and Watertown took advantage getting 2 runs in the 1st and 3 more in the 2nd. Things got worse in the 4th inning when Watertown dropped 8 runs on Oconomowoc with Deuchars having to be relieved by Steve Rhoads mid-inning. The Cardinals offense settled down but the damage was done. The got 1 more run in the 6th before Bob Bolson came in to throw the final inning of relief. Bolson showed unrelenting fear as he dominated the Cardinals hitters in the final frame.
Oconomowoc only mustered 7 hits in the affair with the leading hitter being Mike Sanders who was 2 for 3. Deuchars took the loss for Oconomowoc and R. Leedle got the win for Watertown. Oconomowoc squares up against West Bend this Sunday in LOL action. Currently the O's are tied for 4th place in the LOL West and a half game behind West Bend. Game time is 1:00 pm in West Bend.
