It took 377 days, but the Five O's got back in the winning column in the Tri County Night League, and they did it in commanding fashion. The squared up against Rubicon/Hartford on Thursday night in Watertown and what resulted was a 11-1 8 Inning run rule. Oconomowoc struck early with three runs in the bottom of the first with the first three batters getting hits. Erik Olson led off the game with a double to right followed by a single from Brett Marshall and a double by Jeff Rhoads. The added three more in the bottom of the 3rd on a single by Derek Nelson, double by Josh Bouche and single by Jason Nettesheim to put the score at 6-0. In the fourth innings they extended their lead to 8-0 on hits from Jeff Rhoads, Derek Nelson and Steve Rhoads. Rubicon scored their run in the top of the 5th after starter Chris Fischer hit the first batter of the inning who later scored on a single. The scored remained that way until the bottom of the 8th when Barker scored on a fielders choice by Brett Marshall and Josh Bouche doubled in the final two runs to complete the run rule.
Chris Fischer earned an impressive win going 7 innings allowing one unearned run on three hits while walking four, striking out eight and hitting one batter. Josh Bouche threw a scoreless 8th allowing no hits on two walks and a hit batter. At the plate Oconomowoc was led by Jeff Rhoads who was 4 for 5 with two doubles and an RBI. Derek Nelson was 3 for 5 with a double.
The win puts Oconomowoc at 1-3 in the Tri County Night League. They square up next against West Bend at home in LOL action on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
