Rob Becker threw a complete game to lead the Five Os over Monches 10-3 in LOL action on Sunday. Despite giving up 2 unearned runs in the first 2 innings, Becker hung tough and kept Monches in check the rest of the game. After falling behind 2-0 after 2 innings, the Five Os tied the game in the top of the 3rd when Tim Schlosser led off the inning with a walk followed by a 3 singles from Jeff Rhoads, Derek Nelson and Josh Bouche. Things remained that way until the bottom of the 6th when Monches pushed across another run to make the score 3-2. Oconomowoc then exploded for 8 runs in the top of the 7th after sending 12 batters to the plate. In the inning, Oconomowoc had 8 hits. Becker allowed 2 hits the rest of the game to seal the win for Oconomowoc.
Rob Becker improved to 2-1 on the year after going all 9 innings allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 9 hits while walking 2 and striking out 2. At the plate Oconomowoc was led by Jeff Rhoads, Josh Bouche and Josh Fenzl who each had 3 hits.
The win puts Oconomowoc at 6-2 in the LOL West which is a game and a half behind front running Brookfield. They play Watertown in Tri County action on Thurday before returning to LOL play with a game at West Bend on Sunday.
