The Five O's dropped their first LOL game of the season at Hartland on Sunday after being rained out on Saturday. Oconomowoc jumped on Hartland with two runs in the top of the 1st when Luke Nelson and Jeff Rhoads hit back to back singles followed by a walk to Derek Nelson and an error by Hartland. Hartland answered with two runs in the bottom of the first off starter Tyler Zimmer on a walk and two hits. Teams traded runs in the 3rd and then Hartland took a 6-3 lead with three runs in the bottom of the 3rd. They eventually chased Zimmer from the game but not before scoring three more in the bottom of the 5th putting the score at 9-3. Oconomowoc got things together and managed to tie the game with a six run 7th inning. Mike Bolson led off the frame with a single to left before five straight hits and walks to Luke Nelson, Jeff Rhoads, Derek Nelson, Josh Bouche and Mike Mitchell. The inning was capped off by a three run blast by Mitchell. The lead did not last long after Hartland scored a run in the bottom of the 7th putting the score at 10-9. Things appeared they would end that way when Oconomowoc had 2 outs in the top of the 9th when Josh Bouche singled to right and then Mitchell blasted his second home run of the game to left, putting Oconomowoc up by one. Unfortunately Hartland led off with a single in the bottom of the 9th and a throwing error put the runner at second with no outs. A bunt and wild pitch later, the game was tied. Then Hartland mustered a two out rally of their own and scored the game winning run on a single to left.
At the plate Oconomowoc was led by Jeff Rhoads who was 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs. Luke Nelson, Josh Bouche and Mike Mitchell has two hits each and both Mitchell's hits were home runs. Chris Fischer took the loss for Oconomowoc going 4.2 innings allowing three runs on five hits while walking three and striking out one. Tyler Zimmer started on the mound for Oconomowoc going 4+ innings allowing nine runs on 10 hits while walking three and striking out three. Kevin Seibel threw the complete game win for Hartland.
The loss puts Oconomowoc at 3-1 in the LOL West and 3-2 overall.
