The Five O's exploded early for nine runs in the first three innings but their bats cooled off and won a close 10-9 battle over the Brookfield Blue Sox on Sunday. They scored four runs in the 1st, two runs in the 2nd and three runs in the 3rd with Brookfield only scoring one run in the 2nd to put the score at 9-1 after three innings. The Blue Sox slowly chipped away at the lead and brought the score to 10-9 going into the bottom of the 9th. They got a base runner on after a one out error and then a single and walk loaded the bases. With one out, Luke Nelson struck out a batter before getting a fly out to end the game and preseve the 10-9 win for Oconomowoc.
The win puts Oconomowoc at 5-1 in the LOL West in a tie for first place and 5-3 overall. They return to Tri County action with a game against Clyman in Watertown on Thursday before traveling to West Bend on Sunday for a LOL game.
