Oconomowoc handed Monches an 8-5 loss on Sunday in LOL action. With the Brookfield Blue Sox losing to Sussex on Sunday Oconomowoc now sits alone in first place in the LOL West with an 8-2 record. Oconomowoc pushed a run across in the top of the 1st on an RBI ground out by Derek Nelson however Monches scored three in the bottom of the 1st on three hits, including a home run, putting the score at 3-1. Oconomowoc scored one in the 2nd and one in the 3rd to tie the game. Things stayed that way until the top of the 5th when the Five O's scored three runs when the first four hitters singled. They added two more insurance runs in 8th to make the score 8-3. Monches scored a run in both the 8th and 9th but it was not enough.
Chris Fischer picked up his third win of the year for Oconomowoc going seven innings allowing three runs on three hits while walking four and striking out two. Luke Nelson threw the final two innings allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits while walking two and striking out two. Jeff Rhoads led Oconomowoc bats going 3 for 5 with a run and two RBIs.
The win puts Oconomowoc at 8-2 in the LOL West. They have two Tri County games this week (Tuesday and Friday) before hosting Lannon on Sunday in LOL action at 1:00 pm.
