Five Os Remain Perfect in LOL West

The Five Os improved to 3-0 in the LOL West with a 6-2 win over Pewaukee on Sunday. The two hour game was a stark contrast to Oconomowoc's three hour plus marathon last Wednesday night. Pewaukee only managed 2 hits in the contest while Oconomowoc only scraped 6 together. The Five Os struck first in the bottom of the 1st when Jeff Rhoads started a 2-out rally with a single to left. Derek Nelson was hit by a pitch to put runners on 1st and 2nd. Mike Mitchell then drove both home with a double to left field. Pewaukee tied the game in the top of the 3rd with 2 unearned runs of started Rob Becker. Oconomowoc quickly answered in the bottom half of the inning when Jeff Rhoads led off the inning with a single and eventually came around to score on a single by Mike Mitchell. That was all Rob Becker needed crusing through Pewaukee's lineup before handing the ball to Luke Nelson for a 1-2-3 9th. Other scoring for Oconomowoc came with 2 runs in the 4th and one more in the 7th.
Leading Oconomowoc was starting pitcher Rob Becker. Becker went 8 innings, allowing only 2 hits, no earned runs, striking out 2 and walking 3. The only hits for Oconomowoc came from Jeff Rhoads, Derek Nelson and Mike Mitchell who had 2 hits each. Mike Mitchell had 3 RBIs and Derek Nelson had 2. Taking the loss for Pewaukee was Brett Proud.
The win puts Oconomowoc at 3-0 in the LOL West and 4-1 overall. Their next matchup is a Tri County game at Watertown Friday at 7:30 pm. They then continue LOL play with a matchup in West Bend on Sunday.
