Six years, and six titles, later, Earl decided it was time to move on again.
Having nothing left to accomplish in basketball, Earl returned to his roots, to the game he coined "America's Pastime."
He got in his El Camino, and drove north, to New York City. Using his exploits as coach of the Boston Celtics as his resume, he quickly sold himself to George Steinbrenner, who gave him a 4 year contract as 'Managerial Advisor'. This move quickly paid off, and after three years, Earl had three more championship rings.
