With the tieing run on second base Lannon closer Nick Erd was able to strike out Jeff Rhoads to seal a 10-9 win over Oconomowoc on Friday night in Tri County Night League action. Oconomowoc jumped on the board first when Chandler Ziemann singled with one out in the top of the 1st followed by back to back walks to load the bases. Jeff Rhoads then hit a grand slam to left to put Oconomowoc up 4-0. They added two more in the top of the 3rd to make it 6-0 on back to back singles by Derek Nelson and Fernando Viso who were brought in on a double by Josh Bouche. Lannon however tied the game in the bottom of the third with six runs making it 6-6 after three. Lannon eventually took the lead in the bottom of the 5th with two runs before Oconomowoc answered in the top of the 6th with two runs of their own tieing the game at 8-8. With the game still tied, Chandler pitched himself into a jam by loading the bases with one out. After a strikeout made it two outs, Lannon was able to push two runs across on a hit batter and wild pitch to make the score 10-8. In the top of the 9th Chandler doubled and was brought home by a double from Brett Marshall who was then stranded with the final out being made. Chris Fischer started on the mound for Oconomowoc going 2+ innings allowing three runs on three hits while walking three and striking out one. Chandler Ziemann took the loss going six innings allowing seven runs on eleven hits while walking four, striking out six and hitting one batter.
At the plate Chandler Ziemann was 4 for 6 with a double and three runs scored. Jeff Rhoads was 4 for 6 with a grand slam and five RBIs.
The loss puts Oconomowoc at 2-2 in the Tri County Night League and 5-5 overall. They host Menomonee Falls (3-3) on Sunday at 1:00 pm in LOL action.
