One big inning by the Blue Sox was more than Oconomowoc was able to overcome on Saturday in LOL play. Brookfield put up nine runs in the bottom of the 4th in what would eventually be a 10-5 win for the Blue Sox. Oconomowoc jumped on Brookfield early with two runs on the top of the 1st off John Arnold. Luke Nelson reached on an error to lead off the game and Derek Nelson followed with a double to right field. A double by Mike Mitchell put the score at 2-0. The Blue Sox got one back in the bottom of the 1st only to have Oconomowoc score another run in the top of the 2nd making it 3-1. Oconomowoc extended the lead to 4-1 in the top of the 3rd before the Blue Sox put nine runs on the board in the 4th to make it 10-4. Oconomowoc added one run in the top of the 7th but could not muster any more. The Five O's left 12 runners on base and was only 3 for 17 with runners in scoring position. Chris Fischer took the loss going 4.1 innings allowing 10 runs on 11 hits while striking out one and hitting one batter. Steve Rhoads threw 3.2 scoreless innings on four hits and striking out three. John Arnold went the distance for Brookfield. For Oconomowoc, Luke Nelson, Jeff Rhoads, Chandler Ziemann and Andrew Bauer all had two hits in the loss.
