The Rock is safe. The Five O's took on North Lake in LOL action on Sunday and defeated the Lakers 11-3. As with the game against North Lake in Oconomowoc, Luke Nelson led off the game for Oconomowoc with a home run giving them an early 1-0 lead. Things remained that way until Oconomowoc added three more runs in the top of the 4th putting the score at 4-0. Luke Nelson doubled home Brett Marshall and Chandler Ziemann and then was brought home on a single by Jeff Rhoads. North Lake battled back with two runs in the bottom of the 5th on four singles putting the score at 4-2. Oconomowoc answered with three more in the top of the 6th and then four more in the top of the 9th to put the final at 11-3. Luke Nelson threw the complete game with for Oconomowoc going nine innings allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits while walking one, striking out four and hitting one batter. At the plate Oconomowoc was led by Luke Nelson who was 3 for 5 with a double, home run, four runs, and five RBIs. Chandler Ziemann and Bob Bolson had two hits each.
The win puts Oconomowoc at 14-2 in the LOL West which puts them in sole possession of first place. They have secured a first round bye in the LOL West playoffs which begin August 15. They play their final Tri County game of the year on Wednesday against Neosho in Watertown before traveling to Lannon for LOL play on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
