The Five O's dropped their final regular season game of the year against Sussex 12-3 on a rain-shortened Sunday afternoon game. Sussex jumped on Oconomowoc early with five runs in the first and that was all they needed to lock in the #4 seed and guarantee a home playoff game. Oconomowoc had locked up the #1 seed last weekend with their win against Lannon. Derek Nelson took the loss for Oconomowoc going 2+ innings allowing eight runs (seven earned) on six hits while walking eight, striking out two and hitting one batter. Jeff Rhoads went one inning allowing no runs while striking out one. Chris Fischer then completed the game going four innings allowing two unearned runs on three hits while walking four and striking out five. At the plate Oconomowoc was led by Bob Bolson who went 3 for 3.
The playoffs begin next weekend with Oconomowoc receiving a bye the first round and will play the worse remaining seed on Sunday at home at 1:00 pm.
