Oconomowoc opened the 2010 Tri County season against Kewaskum/Brownsville Friday night and lost in a 14-1, 7-inning run rule. Newcomer Kalvin Grubbs started for Oconomowoc and struggled only making it 1.1 innings allowing six runs (five earned) on one hit while walking five, striking out two and hitting one batter. Oconomowoc did not have a hit until the bottom of the 5th when Shawn Tremaine reached on an infield single. The only other hits for Oconomowoc came in the bottom of the 7th when Justin Mortensen doubled to left and was driven home on a single by Steve Rhoads. Kalvin Grubbs started for Oconomowoc going 1.1 innings allowing six runs (five earned) on one hit while walking five, striking out two and hitting one batter. Jeff Rhoads went 5.2 innings allowing eight runs (five earned) on 10 hits while walking none and striking out three.
At the plate, Justin Mortensen was 1 for 2 with a double, walk and run scored. Steve Rhoads and Shawn Tremaine had the other two hits for Oconomowoc.
