Oconomowoc gave Johnson Creek a run for their money Wednesday night but ultimately fell short in a 8-6 loss. Creek got on the board first with three runs in the bottom of the first off start Chris Fischer on three hits and a hit by pitch. They took a 4-0 lead with another run in the bottom of the 3rd. Oconomowoc struck back with two runs in the top of the 4th when Kris Franzen led off with a walk followed by a double by Steve Rhoads. Both players later scored on a two-out single by K.C. Pinsoneault to put the score at 4-2. However Johnson Creek scored three in the bottom of the 4th to put the score at 7-2. Scoring continued for Oconomowoc in the top of the 5th when they sent eight batters to the plate and closed the game to 7-6, capped off by a three-run home run by Josh Bouche. That is where the scoring ended for Oconomowoc however they made it interesting in the 9th. Down 8-6 with one out, Jeff Rhoads reached on a bunt single. With two outs Kris Franzen singled and Steve Rhoads walked to load the bases. Creek started Dan Corrie completed him complete game by striking out Josh Bouche, sealing the win and making two straight game where Oconomowoc had the tieing run on second to end the game.
At the plate, Oconomowoc was led by Kris Franzen and Steve Rhoads where were each 2 for 4. Josh Bouche hit a three run home run in the loss. Chris Fischer took the loss for Oconomowoc going two innings allowing three runs on three hits while hitting one batter. K.C. Pinsoneault pitched the other six innings allowing five runs (four earned) on secen hits while walking one and striking out six.
The loss puts Oconomowoc at 0-2 in the Tri County Night League and 2-3 overall. They return to LOL action hosting Sussex (3-0) on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
