Rookie Andrew Bauer shut down the powerful Lannon offense and led Oconomowoc to a 8-0 win on Saturday. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 4th when Oconomowoc loaded the bases with three walks. Steve Rhoads then broke the tie with a single to right putting Oconomowoc up 1-0. Oconomowoc then broke the game open in the bottom of the 7th by batting around and increasing their lead to 5-0. Jeff Rhoads singled with one out which was followed by five more consecutive hits by Luke Nelson, Derek Nelson, Mike Mitchell, Josh Fenzl and Mike Bolson. The Five O's added three more in the bottom of the 8th with a lead off single by Bob Bolson and double by Jeff Rhoads which was then followed by a home run from Luke Nelson. Andrew Bauer threw the complete game shutout allowing six hits with four walks and five strikeouts. At the plate Oconomowoc was led by Luke Nelson who was for 4 for 5 with a double, home run and three RBIs.
The win puts Oconomowoc at 12-3 in the LOL West in first place.
