Past Year Writeups:
Oconomowoc Edges Past Pewaukee 4-3

6/19/2010 Print this page
The Five O's were able to avenge their 11-10 loss earlier this year by handing a Pewaukee a one-run loss on Satuday in LOL action. Oconomowoc got on the board early when Jeff Rhoads hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 1st followed by a two run home run by Mike Mitchell later in the inning to put the score at 3-0. They extended their lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the 3rd when Luke Nelson doubled and later scored on a sac fly by Mike Mitchell. That was the end of the scoring for Oconomowoc but starter Andrew Bauer was able to hold Pewaukee's powerful line up to three runs in 7.1 innings of work before giving way to Luke Nelson in the top of the 8th. With runners on first and third and one out, Nelson promptly got a 4-6-3 double play to get out of the inning and preserve the lead. Despite a single the 9th, Pewaukee went scoreless in the 9th to give Oconomowoc the win.
Andrew Bauer improved to 2-0 on the season with the win for Oconomowoc. Bauer went 7.1 innings allowing three runs on eight hits while walking one, striking out three and hitting three batters. Luke Nelson got the save for Oconomowoc going 1.2 innings allowing no runs on one hit. At the plate Oconomowoc was led by Mike Mitchell who was 2 for 3 with a home run, walk and three RBIs.
