Despite a steady rain for the entire three and a half hour game, both teams slugged out a total 10 home runs in Juneau's homer-dome Wednesday night when Oconomowoc beat Farmington 21-20 on a walk off single by Shawn Tremaine. Farmington had the game wrapped up in the top bottom of the 8th with a 20-10 run rule in hand. With one out newcomer Andrew Bauer lined out to third baseman Tyler Frey who had a double play at second base to end the game, but overthrew the bag and Steve Rhoads was able to score from third, taking away the run rule. Then with two outs, the wheels then fell off for Farmington. Josh Bouche then homered and the next six runners reached base putting the score at 20-19. In all, Oconomowoc came into the 8th trailing by 11 runs and scored 10 runs, sending 14 batters to plate. Farmington went quietly in the 9th which brought Oconomowoc to bat needing one run to tie and two for the win. Andrew Bauer led off the 9th with a walk (his fifth of the game) and Josh Bouche then singled to center putting runners at the corners. Griff Bell grounded out, however in doing so, scored Bauer to tie the game and moved Bouche to second base with one out. A walk to Justin Mortensen and hit by pitch for Jason Booth loaded the bases with one out and the winning run at third. Shawn Tremaine then dropped a single into center to score the winning run.
In the marathon game there were 41 runs scored in the game on 33 hits and 10 home runs by both teams. Oconomowoc was led by Matt Huffaker who was 4 for 5 with a double, two home runs, four runs scored, two walks and three RBIS. Shawn Tremaine was 4 for 6 with a double, home run and three RBIs.
