Power carries O's
June 2, 1993

Oconomowoc Five O's pitcher Greg Hackbart, shown in a 1992 photo, gave up four hits on Monday in a 9-1 win over Hartland

The Oconomowoc Five O's started their Memorial Day against Hartland late and ended early but packed enough offense into the middle to take a 9-1 win over the Oilers in a Land O'Lakes Western Division game.
After the O's Sunday context against Lannon had been rained out, Monday's game started an hour late due to wet field conditions and was called after six innings because of rain.
However, getting the victory enabled Oconomowoc its split season first half record at 2-2.
The O's came out with smoking bats in the first inning, helped by Mike Michalsky and John Anderson, each playing their first LOL game of the season after returning home from college.
After a lead-off double by Oconomowoc shortstop Ron Meunier, Michalsky slashed a single into center field to start the scoring.
With two outs and the O's ahead 2-0, Anderson faced his first LOL pitch in three seasons and promptly ripped it over the fence in left field.
Batting for the second time in the inning, Michalsky socked another single to drive in three more runs.
Staked to a comfortable lead, Oconomowoc starting pitcher Greg Hackbart handcuffed Hartland on just four hits.
"It was a great win," said Oconomowoc player/manager Jason Brown.
The O's will bring their two-game winning streak back home June 6 for a 1:30 p.m. contest against Genesee at Roosevelt Field.
