Five O's offense ransacks Rebels
July 13, 1994

The Oconomowoc Five O's rolled into the All-Star break with the offense engine showing no sign of letup as they annihilated Genesee 19-3 Sunday.
The victory boosted the O's second-half record to 3-0.
The Rebels got on top 1-0 behind two walks and an error in the first inning, and the score stayed that way until Oconomowoc's half of the third inning.
In that inning, with two outs, the Rebels committed the first of six errors to load the bases, which would prove fatal to their hopes of a victory.
Greg Hackbart slashed a double to right field to clear the bases, followed homers from Eric Olson and Ron Meunier.
When the dust settled, the O's were ahead 9-1, and the rout was on. Oconomowoc continued to pepper Genesee started Keith Halverson and reliever Jason Knas as Bob Anderson and Mike Michalsky hit back-to-back home runs in the fifth inning.
Jeff Ranta celebrated his selection to the All-Star team with four hits, while Michalsky and Olson delivered three apiece.
The offense was plenty for starting pitcher Chad Brown, who carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before a weakly-hit looper to right broke up the bid. He would allow just five hits overall in picking up the victory.
The O's will take a week off next Sunday, as the Land O'Lakes All-Star game is scheduled to be played in Brookfield. Joining Ranta from Oconomowoc will be shortstop Ron Meunier, who has destroyed LOL pitching this year with seven home runs to his credit.
Play resumes Sunday, July 24, when Lannon visits Roosevelt Field. The Stonemen have not yet lost a league game and are tied with Oconomowoc for the second-half lead. The game of the year for the O's will start at 1:30 p.m.
