Five O's washed away by Falls
Lakers drop O's to 4-3
June 15, 1994

Five O's catcher Eric Olson attempts to pick off an anxious Menomonee Falls runner at first base during action in Sunday's Land O'Lakes Western Division game at Roosevelt Field

The Oconomowoc Five O's battled one of the Land O'Lakes Western Division elite teams to a virtual draw Sunday.
Unfortunately for the O's, it wasn't virtuous enough as second place Menomonee Falls rallied for a 15-10 win.
Five Laker runs in the ninth decided the contest.
Oconomowoc jumped out to an early lead, putting up four runs in the first inning. The O's stretched the lead to 7-1 in the third as center-fielder Tim Nelson smashed a three-run home run. Nelson led the team with four hits in his first Land O'Lakes game.
The veteran Menomonee Falls squad slowly chipped away and it was not long before it had trimmed to difference to 7-5 in the sixth inning. Tom Olejnik then delivered a grand slam to give the Lakers a 9-7 advantage.
With the score 10-7 in the seventh, Greg Hackbart came up with a three-run homer over the left field fence for the home team to tie the score at 10-10.
The game remained tied through eight innings, but the roof eventually caved in on the O's as six Menomonee Falls hits turned into five runs in the top of the ninth.
The O's had nothing left to return with in the bottom of the inning and lost their second straight game of the season after starting out 4-1.
The O's play host to Sussex in the final game of the first-half schedule. Game time is 1:30 p.m. at Roosevelt Field.
