O's effective, mash Monches
June 30, 1993

Oconomowoc Five O's pitcher Chad Brown fires an early inning offering to a Monches batter in a Land O'Lakes Western Division game at Roosevelt Field on Sunday. Brown allowed six hits as the O's won 18-2

The Oconomowoc Five O's continued to surge on Sunday as they sunk Monches 18-2 in a Land O'Lakes Western Division game.
It was the sixth win in the last seven contests for the O's, who finished 5-3 in the first half of the split season and are now 1-0 in the second half.
Monches finished 4-4 in the first half.
For the second consecutive week, Oconomowoc used a balanced formula of attack on offense and defense by strong pitching to pick up a victory.
Oconomowoc starting pitcher Chad Brown collared Monches on six hits.
On offense, the O's bash brigade was led by Mike Michalsky, who belted three doubles.
In addition, Kevin Brown reached base five times for the O's as Grag Hackbart drove in four runs.
Oconomowoc scored two runs in the first inning as Ron Meunier walked and then stole his team-leading seventh base. Meunier scored on Michalsky's double and then Steve Smith added an RBI single.
Monches ties the contest at 2-all. But in the third, Oconomowoc put a four-spot on the board to take the lead for keeps with Hackbart's two-run single the key hit.
Late-inning hitting propelled the O's all day as they scored 10 runs after two men were out in various innings.
The O's blew the game wide open in the sixth, scoring seven runs on six walks.
Oconomowoc's next challenge will be Independence Day holiday home games against Lannon on July 4 and Menomonee Falls on July 5.
"This weekend will make or break the season," said Oconomowoc player/manager Jason Brown. "We feel like we can win the second half and Falls and Lannon are the teams to beat in order to do that."
