The Five Os pushed two runs across in the top of the 9th and then brought in Tyler Zimmer to pick up the save against the Johnson Creek Pioneers on Thursday night in Tri County action. The 9th inning started when newcomer Chad Nettesheim led off and reached on an error. He moved to second base on a wild pitch and then scored on a single by Jeff Rhoads which was misplayed and allowed Rhoads to get to 3rd. That tied the score at 7-7 before Derek Nelson came up and dropped a single into center to push across what would become the winning run. In the bottom of the 9th, Tyler Zimmer came in to pitch and picked up the save in a game that was pitched by committee.
At the plate Oconomowoc was led by Jeff Rhoads, Derek Nelson, Tyler Zimmer and Josh Fenzl, all who had 2 hits each. On the mound Derek Nelson picked up the win throwing 3 innings, giving up 1 run, allowing 1 hit, walking 2 and striking out 5. Tyler Zimmer picked up the save going 1 inning allowing no hits, walking 1 and striking out 2.
The Five Os get back to LOL action with a game at North Lake on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
