The Five O's ended the LOL West regular season on a high note by defeating the first place Brookfield Bulldogs by a score of 11-3. In the game Oconomowoc showed off some power with four home runs and two doubles. Things started off rocky when Brookfield scored two runs on a walk and two hits off starter Luke Nelson in the top of the 1st. The Five O's answered with three runs in the bottom of the 1st when Griff Bell led off with a single and moved to third on a double by Luke Nelson. Jeff Rhoads walked to load the based before Derek Nelson cleared them with a single that was misplayed by Brookfield's right fielder. Brookfield tied it up 3-3 in the top of the 3rd before Oconomowoc grabbed the lead right back in the bottom of the 3rd when Mike Mitchell blasted a 2-run home run. Luke Nelson shut down Brookfield the rest of the day but Oconomowoc's bats kept hot. In the bottom of the 6th Luke Nelson and Jeff Rhoads hit back-to-back home runs and Luke added another home run in the 7th. Luke Nelson threw the complete game win for Oconomowoc going all 9 innings allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits while walking 3 and striking out 9. Luke also led Oconomowoc at the plate going 3 for 4 with a double, 2 home runs a walk and 3 RBIs. Derek Nelson was also 3 for 4 with a walk and 2 RBIs.
The win puts Oconomowoc at 12-6 in the LOL West. They will get either 4th or 5th place depending on if the Brookfield Blue Sox wins both their final 2 games against Lannon.
