There will be a rematch of the 2006 SWABA Championship when The Five O's take on The Brookfield Bulldogs for the 2008 SWABA Championship. Oconomowoc fought past Butler on Friday night in the semi-finals winning 11-2. The game was tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 5th when Oconomowoc took advantage of three Butler errors and scored four runs. The added some insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th by scoring five more. Oconomowoc struck first in the game when Derek Nelson hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 1st. Butler tied it up in the top of the 4th before Mike Mitchell blasted a solo home run in the bottom half of the inning to make the score 2-1. Butler tied it up in the top of the 5th when the leadoff hitter reached on a strikeout, stole second and scored on a fielders choice. That is when Oconomowoc errupted for nine runs in their final two at bats, capped off by a 3-run home run by Mitchell, his second of the game. Tony Briggs threw a gem giving up only three hits to a normally very dominant Butler offense. He threw all 7 innings striking out 6 and walking 3. He also had a hit at the plate. At the plate Oconomowoc was led by Derek Nelson and Mike Mitchell. Each were 2 for 4 with Nelson having one home run and Mitchell having two. The championship game against Brookfield does not have a set date yet.
