Oconomowoc clinched a LOL West playoff spot on Saturday with a 10-9 comeback win over Pewaukee. Oconomowoc was down 9-6 going into the top of the 9th when they were able to score 5 runs to take the lead and hold off Pewaukee for the win. The Five O's took a 3-2 the lead in the top of the 3rd on RBI hits from Jeff Rhoads, Mike Mitchell and Derek Nelson and then extended the lead to 4-2 in the bottom of the 4th on a solo home run by Mike Barker. Pewaukee scraped their way back with a run in the bottom half of the inning making it 4-3 and then three more runs in the bottom of the 5th to make it 6-4. The Five O's came back and tied it in the top of the 7th on RBI hits from Josh Bouche and Griff Bell only to have Pewaukee score two in the 7th and one in the 8th to make it 9-6. In the top of the 9th Oconomowoc had one of it's best innings of the year when Steve Rhoads, Griff Bell and Luke Nelson all drew lead off walks to load the bases. Jeff Rhoads then drew yet another walk to push one across to make the score 9-7. With one out and the bases loaded Mike Mitchell hit a single to right scoring Bell and Nelson to tie the game. Derek Nelson then followed with a double to right to score Rhoads and Mitchell which proved to be the winning runs. Mike Bolson then retired Pewaukee 1-2-3 in the 9th to seal the win.
At the plate Oconomowoc was led by Derek Nelson who was 3 for 4 with 3 doubles, 2 walks and 3 RBIs. Luke Nelson, Jeff Rhoads, Mike Mitchell and Josh Bouche all had 2 hits in the winning effort.
