Oconomowoc shook off it's drubbing against Brookfield last weekend with a 9-4 win over Pewaukee on Saturday in LOL action. The Five O's struck first in the bottom of the 2nd when Josh Bouche led off with a walk and scored on a double by Sean Smith. Smith then scored on a throwing error from a ground ball by Steve Rhoads. They added one more in the bottom of the 5th to make the score 3-0 when Luke Nelson led off with a double, was moved to 3rd on a fly ball by Jeff Rhoads and then scored on a ground ball by Derek Nelson. Pewaukee battled back and tied the game in the top of the 7th on four hits and one error. Things stayed that way until Oconomowoc came up in the bottom of the 8th and sent 11 batters to the plate. When the damage was done, Oconomowoc regained the lead at 9-3. Pewaukee added one in the top of the 9th to finish the score at 9-4.
Earning the win for Oconomowoc was Luke Nelson who went all 9 innings giving up 4 runs (3 earned) while walking 4, hitting 1 and striking out 11. At the plate Oconomowoc was led by Josh Bouche who was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 runs scored a walk and RBI. Luke Nelson, Sean Smith and Mike Barker each had 2 hits.
The win puts Oconomowoc at 10-4 in the LOL West, currently in 4th place. They travel to Lannon on Sunday for a 1:00 pm matchup against the Stonemen.
