The Five Os moved closer to a playoff spot in the Tri County Nite
League with a 11-1 eight inning run rule victory over host Hustisford
Wednesday night. The Five Os improved to 6-2 with two games next
week. Hustisford finished the season at 2-8. Jeff Rhoads scattered
seven hits in the complete game win and added one of three home runs by
Oconomowoc, a solo shot in the second inning. Tim Schlosser, who had
three extra base hits, hit a three run home run in the second inning
before Rhoads went yard. Derek Nelson, who also had three hits, hit a
three run home run in the fourth inning. T Schlosser lead off the game
with a double to right center field and scored on cousin Dan Schlosser's
sacrifice fly after a wild pitch. James Schlosser helped out the
defense with two nice plays in the seventh inning. Mike Eppler was 2
for 2 with three runs scored, a walk and hit by pitch. The O's finished
the game with two runs in the eighth inning on singles by Eppler, Rhoads, Nelson and Mike Mitchell.
Rhoads gave up one unearned run in eight innings, on seven hits, a
walk, hit batter and six strike outs. Jamie Kaul was 2 for 4 for Hustisford.
Jesse Pesch had an rbi. Trent Duckett took the loss with nine earned
runs in 3 1/3 innings, three walks, two hit batters and four strike
outs. Jordan Kuehl went 4 2/3 innings with two runs, four hits, a walk
and four strike outs.
