The Five Os bats were hot as they rode the strong right arm of last
minute starter, Kirk Ressler, in the 95+ degree heat win at Brookfield
13-0 in a seven inning run rule game on Sunday. After Ressler gave up
two hits in the first inning and got out of a bases loaded situation
with a strike out, he gave up one hit in each of the last five innings.
The only runner to reach second base after the first inning was a two
out double by Brian Tosky. Ressler gave up seven hits, a walk and had
six strike outs in the seven inning complete game shutout. Shane
Davis and Tosky had two hits each for the Bulldogs.
The Five Os bats were unstoppable as they scored three runs in the
first, fourth and fifth innings and set up the run rule possibility
with four runs in the top of the sixth inning. James Schlosser, who had
three hits, lead off the game with single, Tim Schlosser reached on a
fielder's choice and Jeff Rhoads singled. Both scored on a double by
Derek Nelson and Nelson scored on a single by Sean Smith. In the fourth, Dan Schlosser walked and J Schlosser singled. After D Schlosser scored on a balk and wild pitch, T Schlosser doubled home brother
James. J Rhoads reached on a fielder's choice. stole second and third
base and scored on a Mike Mitchell single. In the fifth inning after D
Schlosser was hit by a pitch, J Schosser reached on a fielder's choice
and T Schlosser reached on a error, J Rhoads hit a three run home run
over the center field fence. In the sixth inning Steve Rhoads walked
and Pete Schlosser homered to left field. D Schlosser and J Schlosser singled, T Schosser had an rbi single and Derek had his second double
with the final RBI of the game. The first six batters for Oconomowoc
had a multiple hit game. J Schlosser was 3 for 5 with three runs, T
Schlosser was 2 for 5 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, J Rhoads
was 2 for 5 with a home run, three runs and three RBIs, D Nelson was 2 for
4 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run, Sean Smith was 2 for 5 with an
RBI and Mitchell was 2 for 5 and an RBI. P Schlosser was 2 for 4 with a
home run and two RBIs. For the Bulldogs starter Geoff Standisch gave
up six runs on nine hits, five walks and a strike out in four innings in
the loss. Moses Barker gave up seven runs, six earned, on six hits, a
walk and a strike out in two innings. Noah Voss gave up a hit in one
inning.
The Five Os are at North Lake next Saturday at 3 PM and at Monches on
Sunday at 1 PM.
