Pardeeville Knocks Os Out of Tri County Playoffs

In most team sports, you win as a team and you lose as a team. The latter was especially true in the Tri County Nite League Playoff game 7-6 loss in ten innings to Pardeeville at Watertown. Host Oconomowoc brought a gift wrapped present to the party giving up two runs on four errors, seven for the game, in the first inning and allowed the winning run to score on two wild pitches on an intentional walk in the top of the tenth inning. In the bottom of the tenth inning they failed to score the tying run after a leadoff triple off the left field fence by Mike Mitchell. Five position players had errors.

Oconomowoc scored a run in the bottom of the first inning as Derek Nelson plated Jeff Rhoads, who had singled, with a double. The Five Os had a runner thrown out at home. They took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth as Steve Rhoads walked and scored on a single by Mike Eppler and Nelson, who had doubled, scored on a home run by Mike Mitchell. The Five Os added single runs in the fifth and sixth as J Rhoads singled and scored on an error and S Rhoads doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Eppler for a 6-2 lead. Pardeeville scored two runs, one earned in the seventh as Josh Krueger walked and Tim Constidine singled. Krueger scored on an error and Constidine scored on a bases loaded walk to Daryl Zimmernan. In the seventh, Krueger reached on an error, Constidine walked and both scored on a single by Ryan Kaufman. Constidine singled for his third hit in the tenth and was sacrifced to second by Jeff Jenkins before the wild pitches. Jenkins pitched the final four innings for the win. Derek Nelson took the loss with one earned run on two hits, a walk and two stirke outs in one inning. Five Os starter T Schlosser pitched a strong game giving up four runs, one earned, on seven hits, two walks and 11 strike outs in seven innings. J Rhoads gave up two unearned runs on tow hits, a walk and strike out in one inning.

Constidine was 3 for 5 with four runs scored. T Schlosser, J Rhoads, Nelson, and Mitchell had two hits each for Oconomowoc.
