Past Year Writeups:
Five Os Eliminated From Tri County Playoffs

After numerous rainouts and scheduling conflicts, the Five Os were finally able to play the first round of the Tri County playoffs on Tuesday in West Bend. They took on the Spirits in a rainly evening game. Coming out of retirement for the game were two Five Os legends: Big Erik Olson and Frank Keising. Apparently the appearance of the legends could not muster up a win as the Os fell to West Bend 4-3. Erik Olson did not miss a beat. He started on the mound for Oconomowoc and threw a complete game, giving up only 1 earned run, walking 3 and striking out 9. He also contributed 3 hits to the losing effort. The other big contributor at the plate was the other Erik Olson. He also was 3 for 5 at the plate.
Oconomowoc struck first when they got on the board in the top of the first with two runs. Erik Olson (#10) led off the game with a single and was eventually forced out on the fielders choice by Derek Nelson. Erik Olson (#25) then singled to score Nelson. A single by catcher Josh Fenzl scored the second run. West Bend managed to tie the game up in the bottom of the second with two unearned runs of their own brought on by errors from Frank Ryan and Jeff Rhoads. The Five Os managed to jump right back on top in the top of the 3rd when Derek Nelson led off the inning by reaching on an error and eventually came around to score on another error by West Bend's third baseman. West Bend went on top for good in the bottom of the 4th when they led off the inning with a double and got two more hits and an error in the inning.
Erik Olson (#25) took the loss for Oconomowoc. Some say it is due to the fact he did not wear the 1986 black and yellow Nike cleats, others say it was because of Oconomowoc's 3 errors. The loss ended Oconomowoc's 2006 season with an overall record of 26-9.
