Past Year Writeups:
Pewaukee Hands Os Second Straight Loss

For the first time since 2004, the Five Os have lost two games in a row. Their second loss came on Sunday to the hands of Pewaukee. On another blistering hot day, Pewaukee loaded the bases in the bottom of the first with a single, a hit batter and then a walk by starter Luke Nelson. Then Tim Ryan stepped to the plate and hit a bases clearing double. Those three runs would be all that Pewaukee got, but was enough to edge out Oconomowoc 3-2. Oconomowoc appeared to get on the board in the top of the third when they had runners on the corners and one out. Pewaukee ended up turning a double play on a slow chopper with a highly questionable call at first base. The Five Os finally did get on the board in the top of the 6th inning when Jeff Rhoads led off the inning with a bunt single. He was moved to second on a chopper by Derek Nelson and then was scored on a single to left by Steve Rhoads. Their other run came in the 7th when Luke Nelson hit a two-out single and then was brought home on a double to left center by Jeff Rhoads. Pewaukee cruised through the 8th and 9th to preserve the win.
Taking the tough loss for Oconomowoc was Luke Nelson. Luke pitched an incredible game only allowing 6 hits, walking 4, hitting a batter and striking out 11. At the plate Oconomowoc was led by Luke Nelson and Jeff Rhoads, each with two hits.
The loss puts Oconomowoc at 19-4 overall and 11-3 in the LOL West. A loss to second place Menomonee Falls keeps Oconomowoc in sole of first place. Their next matchup is a Tri County game on Wednesday against Neosho in Juneau. Then they continue LOL action with an away game at Brookfield and then a home game against Lannon.
