The Oconomowoc Five Os won their 10th straight game with a 9-2 Tri County win over Rubicon on Saturday. After falling behind 1-0 in the second inning Oconomowoc got on the board when Gunnar Kroseberg led off the top of the 3rd inning by getting hit by a pitch. He was eventually brought around to score after a sacrifice bunt by lead off hitter Bob Bolson and a sacrifice fly by shortstop Luke Nelson. The Five Os added two more runs in the 4th when Derek Nelson led off the inning with his first of two doubles. He was brought in by Mike Bolson's sacrifice fly and then Erik Olson started another rally with a single which was followed up with a double by Gunnar Kroseberg. The Os scored in every inning for the rest of the game with the exception of the 8th.
On the hill Oconomowoc got another great performance by starter Matt Schref. Despite a watchful eye from his father in the stands and a strict pitch count, Matt was able to throw a complete game, striking our 10, walking 1 and giving up 4 hits and 1 earned run. The win improves Matt to 3-0 and bumps the Five Os up to 13-2. At the plate, Oconomowoc was led by Luke Nelson, Derek Nelson and Mike Bolson, each with 2 hits. Derek had two doubles and Mike had a triple and scored two runs.
Oconomowoc's next game is a LOL West match up against Merton on Sunday. The game is at 2:30 pm in Merton.
