Past Year Writeups:
Five Os Break Out With Win Over Lannon

Oconomowoc was able to break their 4 game losing streak with a 13-5 win over Lannon on Sunday. Luke Nelson threw a complete game to earn his fourth win of the year. In the game, Lannon put the first runs on the board when they scored 2 in the top of the 3rd. Oconomowoc answered with 4 runs in their half of the inning which all came after two outs. Josh Fenzl started the two-out rally by drawing a walk and then was followed up with singled by Tim Schlosser and Luke Nelson. With the bases loaded, Jeff Rhoads stepped up and doubled to left, scoring two and then Luke Nelson was able to score on a throwing error. Derek Nelson then drove Jeff in with a single to center. The Five Os continued scoring with 3 more in the bottom of the 4th. Shawn Tremaine led off with a single followed by a walk to Mike Mitchell. Pete Schlosser then singled in Shawn Tremaine who had advanced to third base on a past ball. After a bunt by Fenzl, Luke Nelson eventually helped his own cause with a two-our two RBI single. One more run came in the 5th and Oconomowoc was up 8-2 going into the 8th. Lannon added 3 runs to make things interesting before Oconomowoc put any hopes of a comeback out of reach with 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th. In the inning the Os sent 9 batters to the plate and belted out 7 hits. In nine innings of work, Luke allowed 9 hits, struck out 9 and walked 1. Taking the loss for Lannon was Scott Doffek.
The win puts Oconomowoc at 20-6 overall and 12-4 in the LOL West. They are currently in a three way tie for first place with Hartland and Menomonee Falls (Menomonee Falls owns the tie breaker over Oconomowoc). The have a busy week with a Tri County game on Tuesday against Clyman, a SWABA game on Friday and then another double header LOL weekend with games at Sussex on Saturday and at North Lake on Sunday.
