Led by another solid pitching outing by Rob Becker, the Five Os won their Nite League opener on Wednesday 7-1 over Hustisford. Rob Becker threw 7 innings only giving up one hit and striking out 11 in the winning effort. Shawn Tremaine came in to throw the final 2 innings for Oconomowoc. Hustisford's only run came in the bottom of the 9th when a bases loaded single scored one when centerfielder Mike Eppler hosed the runner from second trying to score, which was the final out.
At the plate the Os were led by Jeff Rhoads who was 3 for 4 with a walk. Mike Mitchell provided the only home run for Oconomowoc with a monster blast in the 9th.
Oconomowoc's next game is another Nite League game on Saturday at home against Kewaskum. Game time is 1:30 pm.
