Only a hit up the middle by Rich Mudge in the 5th inning kept Rob Becker from getting a no hitter on Saturday. Rob threw a complete game allowing only one walk and striking out seven to improve his record to 4-0.
Oconomowoc's offense started early with back-to-back home runs by Jeff Rhoads and Derek Nelson in the top of the first inning. Newcomer Paul Gephart went 3 for 6 with a triple while Mike Mitchell also kept his fierce hitting alive with a 3 for 4 day, including 2 RBIs.
Oconomowoc next squares up against Pewaukee on Sunday who currently has only 2 losses in LOL action. The Five Os need a win to keep them tied for first place in the LOL West while Pewaukee is trying to gain ground. Game time is 1:00 pm in Pewaukee.
