Breaking from the norm of the season, the Five Os offense carried their pitching to a win over North Lake. With 17 hits, including three triples and a double, the Five Os outlasted North Lake 14-9. Mike Mitchell led Oconomowoc with a 3 for 5 day including four runs, a triple and one RBI. Mike Bolson and Derek Nelson also contributed three hits each. The Five Os pitching gave up ten hits including a grand slam to Dan Nordling.
Rob Becker started on the hill for Oconomowoc and pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up five earned runs on six hits, two walks and three strike outs. Mike Bolson then came in relief going 1 2/3 innings with four earned runs on three hits, four walks, two hit batters and a strike out. Luke Nelson nailed down the saving going the final 2 2/3 giving up just one hit and striking out five.
The Five Os, at 5-1, are now a half game out of first place in the LOL West behind Hartland and Menomonee Falls who are tied at 6-1. The have a big LOL double header next weekend with Monches and Pewaukee on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Both games are away and start at 1:00 pm.
