Past Year Writeups:
Five Os take Pewaukee on suicide squeeze in extra innings

After Pewaukee's Shane Nelson doubled home Kurt Sarcia with two outs in the top of the tenth for a 2-1 lead, Adam Schlosser singled home Mike Bolson, who had doubled to lead off the bottom of the tenth, and scored the winning run on an rbi squeeze bunt single by cousin Tim Schlosser. A. Schlosser had gone to third base on an errant pick off throw to first base. T. Schlosser, who finished his American Legion season a week ago, had his first Five Os hit on Saturday at Sussex and finished with two singles on the day. He also turned a spectacular 4-3 play going behind the bag to get a speedy Kurt Sarcia in the third inning. A. Schlosser had the other RBI in the fifth inning also scoring Bolson, who had walked and went to third on a single by Luke Nelson. Derek Nelson and Kevin Raasch had doubles for Oconomowoc.
John Arnold singled home John Sarcia, who reached on a fielder choice and stole second base, in the first inning.
In this classic pitchers duel, Rob Becker earned a no decision going 8 2/3 innings giving up one earned run on five hits and six strike outs for Oconomowoc. L. Nelson earned the win with one earned run in 1 1/3 innings wiht two hits, a walk and one strike out. John Arnold was the hard luck loser for the Muskies going 9 1/3 innings with three runs, two earned, on seven hits, a walk and nine strike outs.
With one game left in the regular season, Oconomowoc can finish anywhere from 2nd the 4th place. Assuming Pewaukee will lock up the 5th and final playoff spot, Oconomowoc will take second place with a win over division leading Hartland and most likely 3rd place with a loss. The playoffs begin next Sunday with either a 1:00 or 2:30 start time, depending on the seed Oconomowoc finishes at. The two winners on Sunday will square off the following Saturday with the winner playing Hartland for a trip to the Grand Championship.
When asked about the final regular season game against Hartland, Mike Eppler quoted "My continued dominance over [Brian] Henschel will be displayed on Saturday, just in time for the playoff stretch. We are equiping the Hartland dugout on Saturday with air sickness bags to prepare them for how sick I plan on making their boy look." Just as Eppler's lengthy tyrade was completed outfielder Erik Olson piped in with "I just got back from my honeymoon, just in time to face fancy boy Henschel. I plan on swinging some different wood this week, the only difference is these home runs wont be preceeded by a bottle of champagne. (cupping mouth) PEACE.".
Game time on Saturday is 1:00 pm.
