Rubicon eliminated Oconomowoc from the single elimination SWABA tournament being held at Watertown. Rubicon took a 6-0 lead after two innings and held on for a 6-4 seven inning victory. After the Five Os went down 1-2-3 in the first inning, Rubicon lead off with two singles by Luke Daly and Lee Kaul. After Daly was picked off second base, a walk to Schafer and a home run by Brian Odenwald made the score 3-0. Jaeger reached on an error and scored on singles by Hoppe and Lackas. In the second inning Daly walked and scored on singles by Kaul and Odenwald. Kaul scored on a single by Hoppe for the 6-0 lead. The Five Os got back into the game by scoring four runs in the third inning. Mike Bolson walked and Paul Gephart singled. Both runners scored on a double by Luke Nelson. After Jeff Rhoads walked, an error loaded the bases. A walk to Steve Rhoads scored Nelson. A single by Erik Olson, who had two hits, scored J. Rhoads.
Brian Holliger earned the win giving up four runs, two earned, on seven hits, five walks and five strike outs in seven innings. Mike Bolson
took the loss with six runs, five earned, on ten hits, six walks, a hit batter and six strike outs.
Oconomowoc continues action on Saturday with a Tri County game versus Kewaskum at home at 1:30 pm. Then LOL action continues on Sunday with a game at Brookfield at 1:00 pm.
