The Hustisford Astros dealt Oconomowoc a 2-hit loss in SWABA action on Saturday. The 4-0 loss knocked the Os out of the tournament which they won a year ago. Trouble started early for Oconomowoc when they went down 1-2-3 in the top of the 1st and Hustisford got right to work with their first 3 hitters of the game getting hits and scoring. Oconomowoc once again went down 1-2-3 in the 2nd when Hustisford got another run in the bottom of the 2nd. That was all the Astros needed as then they cruised though the other 5 innings to take the 4-0 win and advance to the 2nd round.
Starting pitcher Rob Becker took the loss while receiving no run support. Becker threw all 6 innings (SWABA games are only 7 innings) giving up 4 earned runs, 5 hits, walking 2 and striking out 4. Oconomowoc's only two hits came from Jeff Rhoads who was 2 for 3 with a double.
Oconomowoc tries to get back on track with a LOL matchup on Sunday at Merton. The first matchup between the two teams earlier this year resulted in a 14-3 win for Oconomowoc. Game time is 1:00 pm in Merton.
