Five Os Roll Past North Lake

Oconomowoc got back on the winning track with a LOL win over North Lake on Sunday. The Five Os pitching shut down the Lakers offense giving up just 3 hits in a 13-0 win. Matt Schref went the first 6 innings for Oconomowoc picking up the win and improving to 2-0. He allowed 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6. Luke Nelson came in the for the final two innings allowing 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 5. Oconomowoc got on the board with 2 runs in the top of the second with walks to Mike Mitchell and Steve Rhoads who eventually scored on a double by Josh Fenzl. The Five Os added 3 in the 3rd, another in the 4th and 6th and 6 in the 8th to close out their scoring. Leading Oconomowoc at the plate was Josh Fenzl who was 3 for 5 with a double and 4 RBIs. Mike Mitchell and Luke Nelson each added two hits. More restless nights are coming for Mario Mendoza with Bob Bolson and Mike Eppler each improving their averages to .400 and .375 respectively. Taking the loss for North Lake was Matt Markunas.
The win puts Oconomowoc at 2-0 in the LOL West and 2-1 overall. Their next matchup is a Tri County game on Wednesday against Rubicon. The game will be played at Watertown at 7:30 pm.
