With one game remaining in the LOL West regular season, the playoff picture is shaping up. If the Five Os beat the Brookfield Bulldogs on Saturday, the picture becomes very clear... there will be no playoffs. Any team that goes undefeated in the regular season automatically advances to the LOL Grand Championship. Final Playoff Spot
If the Five Os lose to Brookfield on Saturday, then there will be a battle for the final playoff spot. Oconomowoc, Lannon, Brookfield Bulldogs, West Bend and Brookfield Blue Sox have already locked in 5 of the 6 playoff spots. The 6th and final playoff spot is between Pewaukee and Sussex (Menomonee Falls is eliminated because of tie-breakers). If Pewaukee beats Menomonee Falls, Pewaukee gets the 6 seed. If Pewaukee loses to Menomonee Falls and and Sussex loses to Brookfield Blue Sox, Pewaukee gets the 6 seed (Pewaukee wins best record against playoff teams tiebreaker over Falls). If Pewaukee loses to Menomonee Falls and Sussex beats Brookfield Blue Sox, Sussex gets the 6 seed (Sussex wins 3 way tie breaker with best record against playoff teams). 2 Seed (First Round Bye)
The other race between the teams will be for the 2 seed in the playoffs which is important because it earns a first round bye in the LOL West playoffs. Oconomowoc has clinched the 1 seed and a Lannon victory would clinch the 2 seed for them which appears in their grasp with a game against 3-14 North Lake. If the Lakers are able to upset Lannon, there is a chance for a 4 way tie between Lannon, Brookfield Bulldogs, Brookfield Blue Sox and West Bend for the 2 seed. In the case of a 4 way tie, the Brookfield Blue Sox will win the 2 seed with the best head to head record tiebreaker. In all other scenarios, the Brookfield Bulldogs win the 2 seed.
Again, all this ignored if Oconomowoc beats Brookfield in which case there will be no playoffs.
