Five Os Win Second Straight TCNL Game

The Five Os bats stayed hot on Thursday night when they made up their rain out at Juneau in Tri County action. The Five Os pounded out 21 hits in the 16-11 victory. Things started slow for Oconomowoc as Juneau jumped on them early with a run in the 1st and 3rd inning. The Five Os scored one in the top of the 4th after hits by Mike Mitchell and Josh Bouche and a fielders choice by Tyler Zimmer however the County Seaters came right back and scored 2 in their half to put the score at 4-1. The Five Os tied it up in the top of the 5th when Jeff Rhoads hit a 2-run home run and Steve Rhoads reached on an error and later scored on a Mitchell single. Juneau once again came right back and scored 3 more runs in their half to put the score at 7-4. The Five Os then eruptedfs for 6 runs in the top of the 6th when they sent 11 batters to the plate. They added one more in the 7th and 5 more in the 9th to put the game away despite 4 runs from Juneau in the bottom of the 9th. The final score was 16-11.
Leading Oconomowoc at the plate was Mike Mitchell who was 5 for 6 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs. Jeff Rhoads was 4 for 6 with 2 home runs, a double and 6 RBIs. Josh Bouche also belted out his 2nd home run of the year. On the mound it was a win by committee for Oconomowoc. Oconomowoc used 5 different pitchers with Tyler Zimmer picking up the win and Jeff Rhoads picking up the save.
The Five Os return to LOL action this weekend with a game at Menomonee Falls on Saturday at 2:00 pm and at Pewaukee on Sunday at 1:00 pm. The Five Os lost both their games at these parks in the 2006 season.
